Sketching in Cornwall. The view of the bay was drawn from inside the cottage looking out through window. There were lots of pretty old boats in the bay at that moment and then later they sailed off, such is life. Love the ever changing views.
I’ve been busy designing the brochure for this years Art on the Hill – the arts trail in my local neighbourhood Windmill Hill, Bristol. This illustration is for the front cover. I’m really happy with how it turned out! Looking forward to opening up my house on the trail so get the dates in your diary and come pop by and say hello – October 6th/7th 11am-5pm – I’m venue #17 and will be selling prints and cards.
The nights are getting darker and colder and so Autumnal leaves and colours are coming to mind. I’ve taken a more minimal approach with these new designs and hope that people will like them. Going to get some cards and larger prints of these made up to sell at the arts trail in October. Hope you’re all enjoying the transition between seasons…
Love this moment when new cards arrive back from the printers. It’s so satisfying to pack them up with colourful envelopes in bags. Just sorting out orders now, will deliver some local orders today by foot, it’s a beautiful sunny day so looking forward to the walk! I just love seeing all the beautiful flowers coming out at this time of year, such a wonderful expression of joy and colour. Felt inspired to create this new design which I have called Flower Power…but it really should be called Plant Power! Just sent the design to print, so should be ready in a week or two. Thinking this design would also work well on textiles, can imagine it as a duvet cover print…maybe even on clothing too…what do you think? Happy Springtime all! 🌻
If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be? What is it that makes a place a home? I’ve had this design idea in my head for years and have finally got it down on paper. Think it would make a nice editorial illustration so do get in touch if you hear of any opportunities, would love that. The weathers due to get warmer tomorrow so happy dreaming of summer travel adventures…
I’ve recently created a collection of Bristol illustrations. Currently available as cards in some shops around the city and hopefully prints soon! Really enjoying the dramatic vermillion skies right now in the Suspension Bridge design, sometimes it’s good to take a bold decision!
I have relocated and this is my new home in Bristol, isn’t it cute! Was a bit of a transition moving from having just the one room in a flat share to a whole house, whaa! Lots of work to do and havn’t totally got it how I want yet (will take time) but have a functioning desk where I can draw and lots of space to pack cards, so that’s pretty amazing!
